We all have issues we have to deal with in life. Sometimes our issues are self-induced and sometimes that are caused or created by those around us or affecting us. Either way - - - we all have issues. If we didn't, then Jesus had no reason to come and save us ALL.
I'm on this continual road to realizing that I can only deal with my issues. I can't deal with yours, hers, his or ours... just mine. I have to own them and deal with them. Luckily, Jesus understands and helps me deal with them. It is when I get in the middle of other peoples issues that things go bad. It will always backfire - no matter what the intent of your heart and actions may be. Just stick with your stuff.
I've got plenty of my own junk that needs to be worked on without having to deal with someone else's. I'm sure you are the same way. I am thinking that it all comes down to control. I would love to control how my husband does or doesn't deal with his junk, what my parents do with their issues, or what other people do with their trash, but I can't. God doesn't want us in control. Oddly enough, He thinks He is God and wants to be the one controlling things.
So, once again in life, I have to surrender control of that which I would really like to change in other people! I've got enough on my own plate and need to finish what is in front of me before I start on someone else's....
Psalm 130:3-4 says, "If You, Lord, should take note of iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared."
Thank God! He knows my iniquities and is waiting to grant forgiveness. I could not stand pure in front of anyone except when God is in control of my life!
